New Pumps Arrive Just In Time For 3rd Blowout of Temporary Bypass at Target in Tampa, FL

May 4th, 2022 – Just 2 days after resolving the latest bypass explosion at the Target located on West Waters Ave in Tampa, Florida, Lift Station Services received word that the new pumps for this location were ready to be picked up. Lift Station Service Technicians Lance and Lou were dispatched to pick up the new Ebara pumps and install them along with 4 new floats immediately. After picking up the new pumps, LSS Techs Lance and Lou arrived on site to find the bypass connection inside the dry well that had just been fixed 2 days prior, had blown off for a third time.

Hillsborough County was called out and were able to shut the water off. Afterwards, utilizing a small half horsepower pump, the dry well was able to be pumped into the wet well. Once that was complete, LSS Techs Lance and Lou quickly put the bypass connection inside the dry well back together and called Hillsborough County out to restore water service. Once that call was made, both pumps were installed into the wet well along with 4 new floats. This station is now back to being a fully functioning Lift Station with new pumps and new floats. With any luck, this station should have no further issues for the immediate future.

Great Job crew! This was truly a team effort as every member of our crew came out and helped with this station during this ordeal. Everyone at Target, employees and customers alike, truly appreciates all your hard work.
